The name

Take a solid word. Admit one letter. Where there was only ground, art surfaces — not added on top, but discovered inside, as if it had been waiting in the word all along.
In English, found is two verbs wearing one form: what you did to the object, and what the object then lets you do. To find something and to found something upon it — the name holds both, in the order they occur.
The method
Collecting is attention, held long enough to become a decision.
The collector makes nothing. The collector consents — to a thing as it already is, to its previous purposes, to its refusal to explain itself. What was made for one life is admitted into another, and the admission is the entire work.
This is the inserted letter, each time: something small enters something settled, and everything after it reads differently.
The ground
A foundation, then — but one that declines to behave like an institution. No program. No board. No completeness to work toward. Only the standing decision to make room, and the patience to let what enters remain exactly what it is.
